Adomaa [Ah-doh-maa] noun.
A smoothness & elegance of movement.
The name Adomaa means grace in the Akan language of Ghana, which we strive to represent within the brand.
The infusion of both strength and grace can be seen throughout the cut and curves of the clothing. With hints of tailoring and fluidity, mixing both feminine and masculine aspects of design. We have merged the sharp tailoring and structure of classic suits & formal wear, with the flow and vibrancy of African design, culture and architecture.
The inspiration for the brand came from the longing to connect back to the roots of Ghanaian history and craftsmanship, then bringing it forward into modern day life. The goal is to tell the story of the art as well as the people who create it, so that the craft along with the stories they hold can continue to be passed on through generations.
It is important for us that the sheer skill, beauty and intricacy of African artistry is preserved. The thought of contributing to keeping African heritage alive thrives our brand, as it isn’t just about us- but about the community as a whole. Rural villages are able to showcase their quality work to the wider world, while also making a healthy living. This is why we strive to be more than just a fashion brand. It’s an effort to not only empower the community but also give space for African art and culture to thrive, making a difference and touching the lives of people around the world through a distinctive lens.
